New Frigate joins the Karma Navy.

Today is an important day for the KDF Navy.
The first of a new class of warship is being commissioned as the Future Surface Combatant.
With many invited guests on hand this is the first homegrown product of the newly expanded and modernised government shipyard.
A little over a year late, the much needed ships are to replace the old Halifax class one for one.

KNS Stampede will head the new class.

The new ship and shipyard will give the Karma Government an independent Naval industrial base of production. As the ship is accepted and taken on strength of the KDF Navy, the drinks flow in the red and white marquee dockside.

At the same time the second ship of the class (KNS Airdrie) is floated out of the dock soon to join the fleet. Behind in the background, the finishing touches are underway on the third hull (KNS Beaumont). Work goes on 7 days a week in the assembly buildings to try to bring the project back on schedule.
